Ted Stevens: Thanks for proving us right
Yesterday, the longest serving senator in the US Senate had a really bad day, and thats saying a lot for someone who I am surprised can find his way out of bed in the morning.

Let’s all think back a little bit here. A decade ago, when you wanted to search for something on the Web, you actually had to search. Google wouldn’t have what you were looking for because Google didn’t exist yet. Yahoo was still more of a directory at the time. I think in 1998 I was using Alta Vista at the time. (more…)
As reported on TechCrunch, Google has decided to walk away from the proposed deal with Digg. Once again, this is from TechCrunch, so you sort of have to wonder about Michael Arrington’s sources. However, I am glad for both parties that Google decided to walk away from this deal. (more…)
Earlier in the week, Problogger had we he called a “Social Media Love-In“. A lot of Problogger’s readers are all cut from the same cloth, so we all exchanged addresses for our social media websites. I knew I would find some new friends and some new blogs, but a few days later, it’s obvious it is more than that.

I had to revert the design of the page back as all the tools I use for analytics stopped picking up. All of the necessary codes are where they are supposed to be, yet nothing is picking up. I’ll keep this theme for a few more days as I won’t really have time to look into it today,
Just letting everyone know about the new site design. I am technically working on the next version of the sites look, but I wanted to change it up a bit for a while.

Well, I’ve just have some testing to do later tonight on it, but hopefully by tomorrow I will have the new design for the site up. I did it completely from scratch, and I am sort of using it as a holdover theme. I have a really sweet design I have been sketching out but I don’t feel like starting on it quite yet, so I will let this other design be used for a while as I design the new one.
After what’s been months, the WordPress Theme Viewer has been updated to look and work just like the rest of WordPress.org. When I get some free time, I will go back and edit a few small things on my themes as they changed the guidelines for acceptance a little bit. Once the themes are ready, I will add mine to the viewer.
Yahoo has finally decided to show it is not going to roll over in it’s proxy fight with Carl Icahn. Right on it’s home page, they have a link to a page bringing more attention to this proxy battle. Yahoo’s home page is one of the most viewed pages on the entire web. It’s trying to inform the stockholders and general public who aren’t familiar with what is going on about how Icahn is trying to oust the current board.
Personally, it was a massive mistake for Yahoo to walk away from Microsoft’s $33 a share offer despite the fact Yahoo is a completely different corporate culture than Microsoft. I do think they will be able to convince enough stockholders to stop Icahn.
