How can the Ubuntu developers possibly worry about silly things such as working on better dual head support when things like this hang over their heads?
Bug #56125 in apt Ubuntu: “apt-get moo doesnt look like a cow”

If you use Photoshop, you probably know that when you accumulate a large amount of presets, brushes, and the like, you know Photoshop does not do a good job of helping you organize these presets. ABRviewer will help you browse your large amount of brushes, and it is free. It is a useful little tool.

As many of you already know, WordPress is the absolute best blogging platform to use. You may not be familiar with Magento, which is an up and coming open-source e-commerce solution. The most widely used e-commerce plugin for WordPress leaves a lot to be desired.
Of course, it is still in beta, but there is now a plugin to integrate Magento and WordPress. I’ve taken a look at the demo and seems to be working pretty well. It’s obviously not ready for use in production sites, but it is definitely something to keep an eye on.

Now that the official release of Firefox 3 is now about a week old, we have all had some time to play with it. Of course, I can say without hesitation that it is a major improvement over the previous version. The memory issues that plagued Firefox 2 are a thing of the past, and the browser as a whole is even faster.
The “Awesome Bar” is indeed awesome (once you get used to it) and even the bookmarking system is definitely even easier. So what do you guys think? Let everyone know why you like, why you hate it, why you prefer Opera, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc. Share your feelings in the comments.

Like I stated in a previous post, Woopra Analytics is a fantastic piece of software. I have since had a day to play with it, and he is what I think so far. Continued after the jump……

So I’ve been waiting for my invite to Woopra, which is a new analytics software for websites. I was starting to get annoyed because it wasn’t exactly easy to set up. Well, I figured it out, and let me tell you one thing:
If you have a web site and you use analytics, you need to check out Woopra NOW.
I will write a full review sometime over the next few days, but so far it’s amazing. It blows Google Analytics right out of the water, and Google Analytics is a fantastic piece of software.
Just iron out a few wrinkles Woopra, and you will have people beating down your door.

If you are still using the security flaw called Internet Explorer, please help us out to set a world record this Tuesday. I’m sure even if you use Internet Explorer, you have heard of Firefox. Maybe you didn’t know that you could use Firefox instead, maybe you were so used to Internet Explorer.
Do yourself a favor on Tuesday, June 17th, 2008. Help us set the Guinness World Record for the Most Software Downloads in 24 Hours. Firefox 3 is going to be release that day. Download it and try it out! It’s faster than Internet Explorer, it has better support of web standards, and probably most importantly it is SAFER. Internet Explorer is one large security breach.

Being that I spend a sickening amount of time in front of my computer, I am always looking for cool programs that help to make me more productive, stay organized better, and forgive my genuine hatred of most of the human race ( O.K., so two out of 3 ain’t bad).
One of the absolute best pieces of software I have ever used is called Launchy. Basically you hit the hotkey to start Launchy (by default it is set to ALT+Space). There are a few common "macros" built into Launchy that you can try.
- Type "Google" and then press the TAB key.
- Type a search term, and press enter.
- A new tab or window (depending on what browser you use) with what you searched for.
Now I know this is everyone’s cup of tea, but if you tend to use the keyboard a good deal, you will appreciate this program. All of us computer geeks use the mouse as little as possible. It gets annoying to move my hand from the mouse to the keyboard when you are writing a program.
Lifehacker has some great tips on enhancing Launchy’s functionality.
